Chapter History

Established in 2017

The Kappa Gamma chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority was established in the spring of 2017 at the University of Dayton and has been growing ever since! Sigma Kappa is proud to be one of eight Panhellenic sororities on the campus, which is home to more than 23 fraternity and sorority chapters in total.

Growth in 2018

In 2018, The Kappa Gamma chapter participated in their first Formal Recruitment at the University of Dayton, bringing the second pledge class to the newly established chapter. This same year, Kappa Gamma hosted their first Ultra Violet event.  At their Ultra Violet event titled, Sigma K-sadillas, the chapter raised over $3,500.00 for Sigma Kappa’s National Philanthropies. Also in 2018, the Kappa Gamma chapter was given a house on the University of Dayton’s campus.

Service in 2019

As Sigma Kappa women we are focused on our core value of service, the women of Kappa Gamma stay dedicated to serving our community and staying involved in each of our philanthropies. Last year we had our first annual Sigma Kappa Skoops Ultra Violet event for the Sigma Kappa Foundation, raised $7000 for the Walk to End Alzheimers, adopted and cleaned up a local highway, and had so many other great events. We are also involved across the community in service at local hospitals, youth centers, food banks, and so many more. As a chapter we hope to grow more in our dedication to service and always live with heart!
